* Kingsley permits the editor of a magazine the inclusion
of some pages of one of his books. He never gave such a permission before,
but 'your magazine is so good, & the children like it so much that
I am bound to consent'. Charles Kingsley (1819-1875) was the author
of many famous books like Westward Ho! (1855) and The Water Babies (1863).
