Slipcase partly discolored, backs of portfolios a bit yellowed. Bookplates (nice ones) and a few tiny owner's marks in ink at the inside of the wrappers.

edition of this famous coming of age boarding school novel about
Special Friendship. With two original lithographic frontispices by Valentine
Hugo, signed in the stone. Bookplates for Ernst Lampe (1919-2000) designed
in the 1940's by Gisele van Waterschoot van der Gracht (now exactly
100 years old!).
